We've been really busy since my last post. Some good busy, some bad busy, but it's all good in the end. And it's not over yet! The weekend after my last post, we travelled to Jeff and Jen's in Lafayette, IN for a couple of days. Clau and Autumn came along for the trip and the six of us had a good time catching up again, seeing Jeff and Jen's new house, and playing some games. We put in two games of Munchkin and one game of Settlers of Catan before we had to return home. We also played a little DDR and a couple of Eye Toy games that Jeff had purchased at deep discounts. I don't remember the names of either of those games, but one was a fun variation on DDR in which the user touched spots on the screen in time with the music and the other was a snowboarding game that made the user crouch, lean, and jump to do tricks and overcome obstacles to win a race.
Since then, we've also had Clau and Autumn over for a game of Mille Bornes and been attending our weekly Dungeons and Dragons sessions not to mention my semi-weekly online sessions with Evan. Vern and Wendy had another game night this past weekend, too. I always look forward to going to these because no matter what, I get to play at least one game that I've never heard of. This last week we played a western-themed card game called Bang! which I will probably purchase in the near future, another card game called Bohnanza (not what you think, Dad!) in which you must harvest beans and collect coins. I actually won Bohnanza so it became my inaugural victory at Vern's house. We also played Formula De which is a racing game in which one's speed (and other fates) are determined by a d20.
In addition to all of that, I was able to get World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade for $26 so I signed up again and I'm playing a Dranei Huntress. I have to say that so far, I like playing the hunter class better than warrior because I feel like I have a set of skills that, when used correctly, will actually give me a fighting chance against enemies that are a bit more powerful than me. Of course, if I get mobbed I'm still going to run. I'm also getting more into my professions and skills than I did the first time (I ignored them). Hopefully that will help me earn money a little faster than I did the first time around.
And of course, I've been hammering away at my side job which keeps a good portion of what remains of my free time occupied. The work should be tapering off for a while in a couple of weeks which will be a truly welcome change after the last couple of months. But after a couple of weeks of no work, I'm sure I'll be missing those checks. Regardless, the rest will be welcome before the next crunch session rolls around.
